With locations in Oconomowoc and Milwaukee, Crafty Cow owner Devin Eickler had a lot on his mind when COVID-19 shut down most of Wisconsin.
"The day that we got shut down I think I was up until three in the morning just trying to frantically figure out all these ideas and put them together," Devin said
Those ideas included serving Crafty Cow staples, plus adding pop-up menus where chefs put their twist on everyday meals.
"We still are doing our normal stuff, juicy lucy style burgers and in the Milwaukee store, we still have our fried chicken and our Nashville hot," said Devin. "We have a new brunch menu that we're starting this weekend called Biscuit Boys, which will be all biscuit sandwiches. We have a fish and chips menu and then we have another menu called 'Curb Your EnFusionasm' and it's kinda whatever we come up with we throw it out there and see if it works."
It's not just Devin's creativity that kept Crafty Cow afloat. His entire team from family to loyal employees supported the restaurant every step of the way.
"All of them have been excited to keep helping us out and keep moving forward and I can't even begin to say how thankful we are."
The only thing that rivals it is the community's support Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
"It's still pretty incredible to see people going out and supporting," said Devin. "There are all these groups on Facebook for getting takeout and it is nice just watching the community jump out there and help the places that they love that way they have places to go back to when this is all over."
