MILWAUKEE — On the Bayou on MLK Drive has been serving up their Cajun-style southern food with flavor for seven-years. Right now it's hard for them to count the money that they've lost because of the pandemic.

"Not only do we run the restaurant, we also have a banquet facility" head chef Gregory Johnson said. "So we had the DNC booked, but now they not coming. We had a lot of weddings booked, anniversaries, and birthday parties, but we had to give the people all of their money back, so that really hit us hard."

Cancellations due to the coronavirus have hit On The Bayou hard.

That's not going to stop them from doing what they love to do here - cooking with a smile.

"What's popping right now is the seafood boil," Johnson said. "That's why I've got one on display for everyone to see. This is our best seller right now. You have crab boil, fresh corn - we don't freeze corn - shrimp, you got snow crab legs, red potatoes, and sausage."
