MILWAUKEE — The Pasta Tree Restaurant and Wine Bar has been serving up their delicious handmade Italian food here in Milwaukee for 38 years. The pandemic left owner Suzette Metcalfe shaken at first.

"In the beginning, when it first started, I was driving back from Florida," she explains. "I was terrified. I mean, I was in tears. I thought I was gonna lose my restaurant."

"So we closed for a week and kind of regrouped," she recalled.

This award-winning rustic Italian hot spot on the fashionable east side stands out with its homemade pasta and its romantic environment.

"We're unique," Metcalfe says. "We're a very romantic restaurant and we're also a destination restaurant. A lot of people come here for their first date, people have gotten engaged here. They go on to celebrate their anniversaries."
