MILWAUKEE — Thai Barbq has been serving its signature Thai food here on National Avenue for 13 years. George Chai started this business with his ex-wife after the two met at a mall in Detroit.

"We worked with somebody in the Detroit, Michigan area," he said. "She got experience working in a restaurant serving Thai food in a mall. Then we started Thai Barbq."
They were excited to re-open this past Saturday for dine-in after losing about 75 percent of their business during the pandemic. They have their tables spaced out to protect their customers.
"I try to do something for social distancing six feet away," Chai said. "That's why I divide from different groups and the different areas. I don't want to move the chairs, so I have the plastic glass for protection for each group coming in. Everybody is safe."
One of the biggest hits here is the Tom Yum hot spicy noodle soup.
