WAUWATOSA — Rose's Flower Shop in Wauwatosa, is a long-standing family business now owned by Phil and Monique Krainz. Phil gives a lot of credit to his aunt who got things started.

"It was started by my Aunt Rose, in 1949," he says. "In this neighborhood about five doors down, and we moved several times and we ended up in this exact corner location in 1971, so that's going on 50 years."

Phil and his wife Monique have been working together side by side for 28 years strong. They get their flowers from all over the world. Monique says they put a big priority on their customer service.

"I feel like our very personal service is what sets us apart," she says. "We look at our customers as friends and community, not just as a customer, so each bouquet has meaning to us and we never make the same bouquet twice, everything is custom."

Working together can be a tall task for some marriages, but not this one.

"We've just learned so much about each other, that we don't step on each other's feet," Phil says. " So you don't want to cause too much conflict, and if there is, you work it out. You have other employees and customers around, so you really can't throw things, so you learn to work things out and put on a happy face, and we've managed to do it for 28 years."

You can check out the shop at 68th and Wells in Tosa.
