MILWAUKEE — Kopp's Frozen Custard has been a popular spot for a very long time in the greater Milwaukee area. Manager Chip Kortsch is proud of its history.

"Elsa Kopp started it in 1950," he says. "She started on Appleton Ave. I believe what helped her out was a custard stand called Leon's."

Business at Kopp's has dropped some 50% because of the pandemic, but they've made the proper adjustments to accommodate for the changes.

"It's not that busy," Kortsch admits. "It's nothing like it should be. Usually, 50 to 100 people come in and it's constantly like that all day and night.

Since the virus came out It's been very slow. It changed everything, the way we work, and that's the way it is. We can only let so many in the building at a time, so we rely on the call-in orders and online orders."
