A new coffee and tea shop in Milwaukee is serving up drinks from around the country.

Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea is located at 1001 N Astor Street in Milwaukee. It opened back in October.

"This is the very first Fairgrounds in Wisconsin," says shift lead Emma Hickey. "We're based out of Chicago, so, that's where most of our stores are, but we also have a store in Minneapolis and Los Angeles."

The store specializes in craft coffee and tea.

"We are all about variety and choice," says Hickey. "We offer a dozen different coffee roasters. From Santa Cruz, California, Portland, Oregon and right here in Milwaukee."

As for the tea, Fairgrounds does something unique with matcha.

"All of those traditional, espresso-based drinks, we can also do that with matcha," says Hickey.

And the food. We can't forget about the food. From breakfast tacos and scrambled egg sandwiches to avocado toast and a pesto Caprese sandwich. They have it all.

"We have a full breakfast menu, lunch and snacks," says Hickey. "We serve all of that all day. No matter your taste, we can find something for you."

Fairgrounds is open for dine-in, carryout and delivery. If you come to the store, expect to see tables six feet apart and employees as well as customers wearing masks. Fairgrounds also has an outdoor patio for you to enjoy.

Fairgrounds Coffee and Tea is currently open Monday - Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Starting Monday, Aug. 10, hours will be extended to 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. You can check out the menu or download the app here.
