WEST ALLIS — If you miss a smoked rack of ribs or sliced brisket, Double B's in West Allis might be the place you for.
"We do our own style. So it's not the southern style that people are used to, we call it the Milwaukee style. It's all on how we rub our meats," says Nina Timber, manager of Double B's BBQ.

Owned and operated by the Timber family, it's all about good food and good company.
"We're very family-oriented and I feel like because we are family, we take pride in every meal that goes out the door," says Timber.
Usually a packed house, COVID-19 has Double B's taking their meats to the streets.
"So we went from dine-in to delivery in about 15 minutes. We changed everything online and on social media. We went from having people sitting down to going to their front doors," says Timber.
But as deliveries rolled out, the Timber family discovered a new problem.
"We did about two weeks of deliveries and I had a lot of families telling me that they were celebrating an anniversary or a birthday. It kinda got to us, where we said oh my gosh we need to do more for these quarantine blues parties," says Timber.
Heading down the block to Aggies Bakery, the two businesses have teamed up to deliver cakes and barbecue.
"We have hit over 200 parties between all the packages that we're doing just in the six weeks that we've been doing it. The responses that we get from people, the emails, the thank yous, the kids being all joyed when they see the balloons come to the front door with a box of cake, it's been very heartwarming," says Timber.
In return for the community's support, Double B's is giving back by feeding front line workers throughout the greater Milwaukee area.
"We've been doing packaged for the firehouse, for hospitals, for nurses all over. A lot of front line workers are getting fed. Just the amount of outdoor for not only us but the front lines we love being behind every step of this," says Timber.
Everyone knows great barbecue takes time and a ton of love, two things we could all use during this time.
