Opening in July of 2018, Mexic 103 quickly became a favorite in Cudahy.
"It was pretty awesome. It was busy always," said Ericka Martell, owner of the local Mexican restaurant.

But when COVID-19 hit, Ericka knew that her business came second to the community's health.
"We ended up closing for a month, right before Evers came out with his Stay at Home order," says Ericka.
Reopening in mid-April, it became clear that the restaurant had been missed by members of the community.
"Since that week it's been busy, and it's kept steady since them," says Ericka.
The business is motivating Ericka to continue to make social distancing a priority.
"What I do is I take the order, and then their phone number and when the order is ready I'll text them so they can come right in and pick up the food."
Currently, mandates allow dining in at Mexic 103, but Ericka has chosen to stick with curbside orders.
"As soon as it's safe for everyone, meaning us, the employees, and the customers then we will try to open. I don't want to risk anyone getting sick and something bad happening to them. Without the customers we wouldn't be here," says Ericka.
