MILWAUKEE — Company Brewing on Center Street is adjusting to life during a pandemic.
"Pandemic life, I'm sure you've heard this many times, we're working twice as hard for half the sales," said the owner, George Bregar. "I have heard a few people say they're working three times as hard for a third of the sales, so I feel pretty lucky."
George has owned this brewery in the Riverwest area for the past five-and-a-half years and he's found a silver lining during these uncertain times.
"Liquor stores are moving a lot of beer because our business has shrunk down as far as the restaurant goes," Bregar said. "It allowed us to re-focus our energy on brewing beer for wholesale, packaging it, and distributing out to the liquor stores, grocery stores, and that sort of thing."
They have a full-service restaurant but they're only seating outside for now.
"We're not seating in the inside at all because we're not comfortable doing so and all of our tables out here are spaced at least six feet apart in such a way that people aren't on top of each other by any means," Bregar said.
When people are sitting down, they can enjoy Company Brewing's popular burger.
"We make our own compound butter with all of these kind of different spices and ingredients and stuff like that, and that's the butter we use for the burger, so it's got a lot of depth of flavor," Bregar said. "It's like a Wisconsin butter burger but it's a special compound butter that's got a lot of flavor."
Company Brewing is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
