WEST ALLIS — In the Brey household, nothing can't be fixed with a good home-cooked meal. At Chilango Express in West Allis, you can get one via pickup or delivery.

"I do enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, all the Mexican style [food]," said Juan Ortiz, owner of Chilango.

Over two decades ago, Chilango started as a taco cart.

Now in its permanent home, at the corner of Lincoln and S. 71st, owner Juan Ortiz is doing what he can to stay open.

"It's hard because there are not too many people. But people do call for deliveries and pickup," said Juan.

Trying not to cut staff, Juan is currently rotating his cooks each day. So far, it's helping, though the business is not near the same.

"It's better when you can come in because it's more. Everything is more. Now [business] is only 40 or 30 percent," said Juan.

While times are hard and sure to get harder, Juan continues to help customers where he can.

"I give deliveries for free. No charge for delivery; everything is the same. I want to help us and for the people too," said Juan.

If you need a recommendation, the steak quesadilla is delicious.
