Pandemic hit one month after it opened

WAUWATOSA — BB's on North Avenue considers itself the new kid on the block. The pizza bar in Wauwatosa was open for just a month when the global pandemic hit.

"It's been tough obviously, you just don't know what's gonna happen here," says owner Pietro Balistreri. "At first let me just get rid of my inventory and let's close it down. The more and more that I was around the people and seeing the precautions that we were taking it just felt more comfortable."

Now that BB's is open for dine-in, Pietro is hoping his family name and his pizza can prosper in their new location.

"You have the old school Balisteri's," he says. "We're the new kids in town. My brother and I are trying to make the best for you guys."

"What gives us the competitive edge on our pizza is, I know it might sound cliche, but we use all fresh ingredients," he explains. "I mean fresh basil, oregano, I can't give all of the ingredients out but we do a thin crust, which we call Milwaukee style."
