Bay View fine dining at The White House

MILWAUKEE — The elegance here is evident right when you walk in the door. Bay View's Historic Land Mark Restaurant The White House was only open for three months before they had to shut down because of the pandemic. Their story is quite interesting.

"I acquired the property about a year ago. Six months' worth of renovations. A complete kitchen build-out. The property is historic. It was owned by the Kneisler family for a hundred and twenty-some-odd years," owner Allison Meinhardt said.

This is the first time it will ever be a restaurant. Fine dining. Bay View wanted this. The renovations were so extensive, but we did have a few things working in our favor. The Bar is Original carved out wood from 1891," she said.

They closed their doors for two months because of the coronavirus to protect everyone. Now, they're open and ready for you.

"The outdoor seating was crucial for us especially now because people are more comfortable dining outside, and we are blessed that we have the space to accommodate guests. Many restaurants don't have the space that we have. So we're blessed in that way. I think the restaurant will survive the pandemic."
