For years, Robyn Krimke ran a secondhand furniture store called Marsha's 2nd Time Around. But when COVID hit, the shutdown forced Robyn to close her shop permanently. That is until her community stepped up.
"Things just kinda happened and we thought we were going to be done, then customers started a GoFundMe page and I had another friend that did a little bit of fundraising," says Robyn.
With her second chance and a new location in West Allis, Barbie's 2nd Time Around opened on Sept. 1.
"It was exciting, we renamed the business after my mom who recently passed away. She's the reason my sister and I have our love for furniture and shoes. She always taught us if you can get it on sale great, but you buy good furniture and good shoes," says Robyn.
Paying it forward, Robyn does whatever she can to support local vendors.

"We're doing small business Saturday's this November, and each Saturday in November, I have different crafters or makers in. So many events have been canceled and for some of them this is their livelihood," says Robyn.
Committed to helping as many people as she can, the shop is also collecting coats to fill a closet in the store that will be available for anyone who needs it.
"I can't help everyone, but we want to help as many people as we can. People shouldn't be cold in the winter. We're going to work with a local dry cleaner to get them cleaned. They will be hanging in our coat closet and people will be able to come in a get a coat no questions asked," says Robyn.
Making sure that items and people get the second glance they deserve, Barbie's 2nd Time Around is the perfect place for you to find a treasure today.
The shop is located at 1412 S. 73rd Street in West Allis and is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
