HALES CORNERS — At Ann's Italian Restaurant in Hales Corners, they've dealt with obstacles to their business for a while.

"We had construction out front for two years. In a way, business is better now then before," Ann's owner Justin Giersch says.

So co-owner and GM Justin Giersch adapted. And now a Milwaukee staple has given them an unexpected boost.

"We used to do thirty pounds of fish. We do 200 on a Friday," Giersch says.

But some things never change.

"The pizza. We're known for it and carry out. It's been the same recipe for fifty years," Giersch says.

And Italian food always gets you through tough times.

"It's comfort food, no doubt. People want it during this time," Giersch says.

Ann's celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. They are closed on Monday, open Tuesday-Thursday 5-8, Friday and Saturday 4-9, and Sunday 4-8.
