MILWAUKEE -- This Easter Sunday, there are millions of people who need blood transfusions.
Some during surgery, and others after an accident or because they have a disease that requires blood components. Blood donation makes it all possible.
Patty Flowers with the Red Cross joined us Live on Daybreak to share the list of locations where you can make an appointment or donate blood by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App or visiting their website. You can also call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
She shared that major disasters cause less people to donate in certain parts of our country, causing a shortage. Blood type O negative is their biggest need.
