MOUNT PLEASANT — A 27-year-old man was taken into custody on Thursday after driving under the influence with his 1-year-old in the back seat.
Around 11:02 p.m., a Mount Pleasant police officer saw a vehicle parked illegally. The officer noticed suspicious behavior and called for a K-9.
Upon arrival, the K-9 found marijuana and officers determined the driver had been smoking prior to the stop.
After a sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody.
The driver's one-year-old child was in the vehicle at the time of the incident and was turned over to a family member.
The driver is in custody but charges have not been filed yet.
