Back in early October we told you about two moms who started a drive to help foster kids.
Last week in Sturtevant, we saw the culmination of their hard work - and the result is Positively Milwaukee!
The moms started a drive and collected 500 suitcases, duffle bags, and backpacks for foster kids. They were concerned about the kids who are forced to move from home to home.
"On any given day there are 6,000 kids in foster care, most of those kids are transporting their belongings in black garbage bags," Miranda Rochol says.
Caring volunteers who came together to load up the donations were also on hand. The effort is a reminder of what a few people can accomplish with a dream, a goal, and passion.
As they fill vehicles with the donations, they can rejoice that they have not only brought people of all ages together, they're giving foster kids a chance to pack with pride.
"It's been a good community effort."
