A Texas Chick-fil-A is gaining national attention after its employees' act of kindness went viral.

According to a Facebook post on the Odessa University Boulevard Chick-fil-A page, the fast food chain had planned on closing the restaurant early on Saturday after a mass shooting left seven people dead and 22 others injured. But instead of going home, employees teamed up with another location and voluntarily cooked 500 sandwiches for law enforcement officers responding to the tragic event.

The post reads in part, "Sometimes light in a dark world looks as simple as a hot chicken sandwich." The post has since garnered over 7,000 shares on Facebook.
