According to social media posts later confirmed by ABC News, former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow was aboard a flight in which another passenger began experiencing a medical emergency.
According to a Facebook post, a passenger on Delta Flight 1772 from Atlanta to Phoenix suddenly fell unconscious. As flight attendants and medical professionals rushed to revive the unidentified passenger, Tebow made his way down the aisle to comfort the sick passenger’s family.

The Facebook post said that Tebow embraced the passenger’s loved ones and led the plane in prayer. As the plane landed in Phoenix, the passenger’s pulse returned.
ABC News’ Jeffrey Cook confirmed the account with both Tebow’s representatives and Delta Airlines.

Tebow is a devout Christian, and has been open about his religion since he rose to prominence as the quarterback for the Florida Gators — but it hasn’t come without controversy. He notably appeared in an anti-abortion ad that aired during the 2010 Super Bowl.
Tebow won two National Championships with Florida, and despite leading the Denver Broncos to the playoffs in 2011-12, he failed to catch on as a consistent NFL quarterback. He most recently played for the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2015 preseason. He currently works as an analyst for ESPN.
