This police department is accepting non-perishable foods for parking violation fines

BAY VILLAGE, OH — Bay Village Police Department in Ohio is now accepting non-perishable food items as payment for parking violations through the holiday season.

The department is partnering with the Bay Food Ministry to accept un-expired non-perishable items from Nov. 15 through Dec. 31. Each item is worth $5 in payment and you can pay parking tickets up to $25.

Bay Food Ministry works to serve individuals and families who live or work in the area and need food assistance.

In addition to parking payments, the department is also accepting donations without a parking ticket.
