How Dry January looks in the Brew City: Vendors ready for Dry January Beverage Fest

MILWAUKEE — With Dry January underway, many are cutting their alcohol intake down to zero. But what does that look like in the Brew City?

The folks at Lakefront Brewery made sure to stock their selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

On-site Business Development Manager Dylan Mazurkiewics said they're prepared to serve customers opting to cut their alcohol intake because they’ve been building their selection since 2021.

“There’s just expanding options to enjoy in that realm,” Mazurkiewics said. “People are excited to go try some of those new things because, for a long time, they weren’t available.”

“I’ve grown to love a lot of the N/A options out there, including ours," he added. "I think they are completely viable substitutes."

He also said while there’s definitely more emphasis on n/a drinks in January, the popularity of alternative options is on the rise as people generally become more health conscious.

It’s one of the reasons Lakefront Brewery is helping sponsor Milwaukee Record’s third annual N/A Day "Dry January Beverage Fest" at the Cooperage on Saturday afternoon.

The event, which organizers expect to draw about 350 people, will feature more than 50 different N/A products from both local and national vendors.

“People still want to have the social aspect of going out with friends and having that “beer” per se or like the fun cocktail but without the consequences,” Lakefront Brewery Bartender Brady Laflen said.
