One dead in shooting near 18th and Capitol Saturday evening

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Medical Examiner's Office (ME) was called to N. 18h St. and W. Capitol Dr. for a shooting that left one man dead Saturday evening.

The ME is called to scenes for several reasons including homicides, suicides and other deaths. It also performs autopsies for the Milwaukee Police Department and other surrounding counties.

The ME has identified the deceased as 17-year-old Monte Edmond. The ME's report indicates Monte died in the living room of the home where the shooting took place.

A 20-year-old man was taken into custody by police.

Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
