Three-year-old accidentally shot Sunday, MPD reminds gun owners to safely store firearms

MILWAUKEE — A three-year-old was the victim of an accidental shooting just before 6 p.m. Sunday on the 7900 block of N. 64th Ct.

North Shore Fire and Rescue was dispatched to the scene and took the child to Children's Hospital to treat their injuries.

A 28-year-old was taken into custody, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

According to the MPD, said in a release the shooting appeared to be accidental, but the circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.

MPD also reminded gun owners to store firearms safely with gun locks and storing them in a safe.
