MILWAUKEE -- Make-A-Wish Wisconsin granted Sara Nylund's wish to have a playdate with her favorite characters from Star Wars.

Sara was diagnosed with liver cancer at just 10-months-old. She had a liver transplant when she was a year and a half. Now, at 3-years-old, she's cancer-free but has experienced two transplant rejection episodes and a liver infection.

"It means so much to see her have fun and just be a normal kid," says Sara's mom, Jean Nylund. "She clicked with Darth Vader from the very beginning. It started with us being stuck in a hospital room for her treatments. I'm a Star Wars fanatic, and she got into it too."

Needless to say, the force is strong in Sara.

"She has to be very careful," Jean says. "She's kind of in isolation because of the nasty flu season we have going on. Infection and illness are her enemies right now because of the liver transplant. But today is a really fun way to celebrate the fact that she's healthy after a really long battle."
