A woman was charged with DUI after crashing into a snow plow while driving the wrong way on a local highway early Monday morning.

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, it happened around 2 a.m. on I-43 at 51st Street.

Authorities say JoAnn Quesada was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of I-43 at Loomis Road and crashed her Chevy Cruz into the snowplow at 51st Street.

The plow truck driver said that he tried to stop in place, but the vehicle struck him head on at about 55 mph.

Quesada reportedly told investigators at the hospital that she was doing karaoke at Amelia’s Restaurant in the 700 block of E. Layton Avenue before the crash.

Quesada was treated for injuries and later transported to the Milwaukee County Jail.

She faces first-degree DUI and second degree reckless endangering safety, a class G felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

The Sheriff's Office says the snow plow driver was not injured.
