People playing the lottery in Wisconsin this weekend are eyeing two jackpot prizes—which combined add up to close to $1 billion.
As of Friday morning, the Wisconsin Lottery reported the Mega Millions prize was at $510 million and the Powerball was at $470 million.
It was a busy Friday at Gary's Beer and Liquor in Oak Creek.
"It's insane," said Robert Smith "Like I'd say every other transaction is $20 in lottery sales every time."
According to the Wisconsin Lottery, your chances of winning one of these jackpots is about one in 300 million.
But some customers say it's still worth a shot.
"I bought a Powerball and a Mega Millions," said Marla Breen. "I bought them for my grandpa’s birthday, there’s nothing I can give so I thought might as well give him a shot."
"I'd go to Jamaica," said Tim Goertz.
The Wisconsin Lottery says last June two people from the Menomonie area split the Powerball jackpot of $22 million, and in November a Racine man claimed a $120 million Mega Millions prize.
The Mega Millions drawings are Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 p.m. The Powerball drawings are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m.
