WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI - The man at the center of a manhunt in Waukesha County turned himself in Thursday.

He had been wanted since June 5 after a domestic incident involving his wife and son in the Town of Eagle.

“We did come to surrender," Donna Kuchler said.

On Thursday, just before is scheduled initial court appearance, 43-year-old fugitive Jonathan Pogreba and his attorney, Donna Kuchler, walked inside the Waukesha County Courthouse to surrender, but once inside, he was taken into custody.

Kuchler said she isn’t pleased with the Sheriff’s Department’s decision to keep Pogreba overnight in jail.

“That practice of voluntarily producing somebody in court, quashing a warrant, setting a bail, has apparently been abandoned in Waukesha," Kuchler said.

Pogreba spent more than two weeks on the run after allegedly threatening his wife with a gun. Police claim he then slammed her head into their garage door.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department along with a number of other local law enforcement agencies spent days searching the Town of Eagle trying to find him. Court documents reveal his wife filed for divorce a day before the alleged assault.

“[The] sheriff’s department, they arrested him at the door," Kuchler said. "They knew we were bringing him through today.”

Pogreba is charged with a felony and three misdemeanors. If found guilty on all four charges, he could spend a little more than 15 years behind bars.

Kuchler expects Pogreba to make a court appearance Friday.
