West Allis Police: Teen in custody after shooting near school prompted lockdown

WEST ALLIS — A 17-year-old male is in police custody for a shooting that happened outside James E. Dottke High School Thursday morning.

The call came in at about 10 a.m. The accused shooter shot another 17-year-old male.

Both are students at Dottke High School.

The victim was treated at the hospital and was released Thursday afternoon.

The school was put on lockdown Thursday morning as a precaution, which was lifted a little more than an hour after it was issued.
