WEST ALLIS — A threatening Snapchat post prompted an investigation at a West Allis High School Thursday.
West Allis Police told TODAY’S TMJ4 they were made aware of the post Wednesday night. Thursday, several officers were posted outside the school’s main entrances and inside the building.
“There were quite a few police cars,” said Holly Pawelski, who came to pick up her son.
Wednesday night’s threats comes on the heels of a fight at the school Tuesday. Four students were arrested.
An email to parents explained the schools plan to increase a law enforcement presence. Classes were not cancelled.
Some parents, like Colleen Hayes, came to pick up their children. Her son Nicholas, called her to pick him up.
"After a while, it became apparent that there wasn't a whole lot of actual schoolwork going on and I thought, it's better safe than sorry, I'm gonna go get him," she said.
We are still working to learn if any students were disciplined in connection to the Snapchat threat.
