Steer clear of the lakefront Tuesday, as waves could reach as high as 12 feet tall, according to the National Weather Service.

A Lakeshore Flood Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. for Sheboygan, Ozaukee and Milwaukee counties.

Southeast winds will gust up to 40 mph throughout the day, creating the possibility for minor flooding on beaches, roads and structures in low-lying areas near the lakeshore.

There is also enhanced risk of beach and bluff erosion.

Winds and waves will slowly decrease throughout the day.
