WAUWATOSA -- An 8-year-old Wauwatosa girl sells ice cream in her front yard for a good cause.
Lili Malone set up her ice cream cart last summer because she says she wanted a job.
"My parents said, 'a 7-year-old can't go looking for a job,'" said Malone. "But they didn't say anything about a 7-year-old making her own job."
But after setting up the stand, Malone said she decided she didn't want all of the money for herself. Instead, she donates half to the Hunger Task Force.
"Sometimes I get to sneak a free ice cream," she said. "But it also feels really good to know that I'm helping other people that don't have as good a life as me."
So far, she's raised almost $400 for the Hunger Task Force. The other half she splits between her college savings fund and whatever else she wants to buy.
"I once saved up so much, I took the family out to dinner," said Malone.
She sets up about once a week and you can find more information about where and when she will be selling ice cream on her Facebook page.
