WAUWATOSA — A serious gas leak caused businesses to temporally evacuate on Wednesday afternoon, according to We Energies.
Construction crews struck a gas main near 101st Street and W. Innovation Drive about 4:00 p.m.
W. Innovation Drive is was temporally closed at Research Drive, preventing people who work along the dead end roadway from exiting, according to witnesses.
We Energies cleared the scene about an hour later, according to a company spokesperson. Authorities expect traffic congestion in the area for the next several hours.
