For fans who can't make it to a George Webb location for a free burger from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. today, most locations will have vouchers available that are good for a free burger through the end of the month, the restaurant chain said Wednesday.
Playoff games have been keeping Milwaukee Brewers fans on the edge of their seats. But on Thursday, fans will be standing in line for their free George Webb burger.
"I'm pumped about it for sure," said Dan Bush, from Wauwatosa.
From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, fans can claim their free burger at any of the 30 George Webb locations.
"I know it's just a hamburger, but it's a part of history," said Selene Kostopoulous, who works at the George Webb in Wauwatosa.
She says they have extra staff ready to go and their supplies are stocked.
"[I'm] a little nervous, I know it's going to be really busy," she said. The "12 in a Row" promotion dates back to the 1940s when George Webb himself said he would grill free hamburgers for fans if the team won 12 games in a row.
In 1987, the only other time the prediction has come true, George Webb served nearly 170,000 free hamburgers.
A limited menu will also be available on Thursday.
