Milwaukee Police released video of the hit-and-run crash near 24th and Capitol that hospitalized one MPD officer Monday night.

The video, released Tuesday, shows a car striking another car pulled over while the officer was conducting a traffic stop.

Police identified the officer as Alberto Figueroa. He is 26-years-old with five years of experience. He is in stable condition but will be held over for several months, police said.

Figueroa pulled over the car to let them know about a tail-light that was out. While talking to the driver, two cars speeding down Capitol Drive hit a parked car and the impact pinned Figuero against the car he pulled over.

The drivers of those two cars kept going but crashed about a block down. The drivers and passengers then ran away from the crash. Police said they have several subjects in custody.

The people in the car the officer pulled over leaped out of their car to help Figueroa. They performed CPR on him after it seemed he didn't have a pulse. Police said this heled save Figueroa's life.

Police ask anyone with information on the hit-and-run crash to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 414-935-7360.
