WISCONSIN — Vennture Brew Co. has donated $5,000 to the African American Chamber of Wisconsin, which works to help the growth and sustainability of African American-owned businesses.

The donation came from sales of the Black is Beautiful Stout, which was sold at several breweries across the state.

Marcus Baskerville, head brewer and founder of black-owned Weathered Souls Brewing in San Antonio, TX released the recipe for the Black is Beautiful Stout back in June.

Vennture Brew Co joined other local breweries, including 1840 Brew, Broken Bat, the Fermentorium, and Third Space, in creating its own version of the Black is Beautiful stout for this fundraiser.

“We selected the African American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin as the recipient of our proceeds because we believe in closing the economic equity gap, keeping money in the black community, and encouraging opportunities for entrepreneurship," said Simon McConico, co-founder of Vennture Brew Co.

The African American Chamber of Commerce said they are thrilled with the donation and that Vennture Brew Co believes so strongly in them in a press release Tuesday.
