The UW-Madison assistant men's basketball coach was involved in a tragic crash in which his wife and daughter passed away.
Howard Moore and his son survived the crash that occurred in Michigan early Saturday morning.
The two suffered injuries but are expected to recover.
Moore has been part of the UW-Madison Badgers athletics community for nearly 30 years since his days as a student athlete.
"There are no words to describe how devastated we are for Howard and his family," said Head Coach Greg Gard in a statement. "Howard is so much more than a colleague and a coach. He and Jen and their children are dear friends to everyone they meet. We will miss Jen and Jaidyn dearly and we will put our arms around Howard and Jerell and the entire family, giving them love and support during this unspeakable time."
