WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. News & World Report has released their annual list of the best hospitals in the country, including Wisconsin.
While no Wisconsin hospitals made the national top 20 "Honor Roll" this year -- nine did meet “high” U.S. News standards.The report also ranked those nine hospitals.
The nine hospitals are listed and ranked below:
 
1. University of Wisconsin Hospitals – Madison
2. Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center – Milwaukee
3. Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin – Wauwatosa
4. Aspirus Wausau Hospital – Wausau
5. St. Mary's Hospital – Madison
6. (Tie) Aurora Medical Center Grafton
6. (Tie) Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center - Janesville
8. Bellin Memorial Hospital -- Green Bay
9. Mayo Clinic - Eau Claire
U.S. News says it scores are based on several factors, including: survival, patient safety, nurse staffing and more.Hospitals are ranked nationally in specialties from cancer to urology and rated in common procedures and conditions, such as heart bypass surgery, hip and knee replacement and COPD.
 
The U.S. News Best Hospitals analysis reviews hospitals' performance in clinical specialties, procedures and conditions. The National Honor Roll recognizes 20 hospitals each year with outstanding performance across multiple areas of care.
 
Hospitals are also ranked regionally within states and major metro areas.
