MILWAUKEE — The Urban Ecology Center's summer equipment lending program is back. Members of the UEC can once again borrow outdoor recreational equipment for free.
Initially, the program was put on hold due to safety and hygiene concerns associated with the coronavirus.
“This year, we have modified our methods to provide a safe and reliable check out process in accordance with health department recommendations about running a lending program,” said Mike Larson, Visitor Services Manager at the Urban Ecology Center.
The equipment will be sanitized after each use. Only members can borrow equipment like canoes, kayaks, and bikes. Everything must be reserved online first, and you can pick it up from a curbside pickup location.
The cost of a membership is $60 per year which is good for the entire family - two adults, children, and grandchildren under 18. Individual memberships are $50 per year which includes the member and one guest.
