MILWAUKEE — UPS is expected to hire more than 280 seasonal employees in the Milwaukee area for the busy holiday season. The increased package volume is to pick up about November and continue through January.
“We expect another record peak season this year, with daily package deliveries nearly doubling compared to our average of 20 million per day,” said Jim Barber, chief operating officer. “In order to make that happen, once again we’re recruiting more than 100,000 people for some of the country’s best seasonal jobs.”
Tractor-trailer and package car driver jobs start at $21 per hour. Package handler's pay starts at $15 per hour and $16.80 for driver-helpers.
The company also offers the Earn and Learn program in which eligible student employees can earn $1,300 in addition to their hourly wage.
