The much-anticipated "Da Crusher" statue will officially be unveiled this summer in South Milwaukee, officials announced Thursday.
The unveiling ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 8.
The location for the statue will be a lot at 1101 Milwaukee Avenue, that will be transformed into a “pocket park” for the statue.
The statue honors the late Reggie "Da Crusher" Lisowski, who passed away in 2005. Lisowski was a professional wrestler who was billed as “The Man Who Made Milwaukee Famous.”
He was a lifelong South Milwaukee resident and a WWII veteran.
Organizers raised more than $40,000 in 90 days for the statue. It will include a brick square resembling a wrestling ring for the statue to sit atop.
