Union Pacific is offering a $10,000 hiring incentive for train crew positions in Milwaukee. These employees are responsible for train operation and movement. The position is based in Milwaukee, but employees would travel to destinations within the region.
Employees working full-time can earn up to $60,000 for the first two years as a train crew member. It is an entry-level position -- no previous experience is required.
Union Pacific is also offering a $25,000 hiring incentive to become a diesel electrician in Butler.
The position includes handling the inspection and repair of the company's 8,000 diesel-electric trains, from day-to-day maintenance like switching faulty light bulbs to rebuilding motors. Diesel electricians are expected to have experience working in electronics, control systems and AC/DC motors.
