UNION GROVE -- At approximately 6:00 a.m. Thursday, the Racine County Sherrif's Office responded to a call regarding a gunshot in Union Grove.
A 21-year-old victim was shot in the calf. A 22-year-old suspect is under arrest, Racine County Sheriff Chris Schmaling adds they were at the cathedral court apartments for a drug deal.
"I want to put this community right now at ease, this is not a common thing that happens out here," Schmaling said. "Drugs, guns and violence go together and I think today we've seen a fine example of that."
Schmaling also says the victim and suspect were together in a car when the shooting took place he adds they're both from Racine and know each other.
