WASHINGTON COUNTY — A 16-year-old male driver was extricated from a vehicle after colliding with a train Saturday afternoon in Washington County.
It happened around 3:45 p.m. on Aurora Road in the Township of Addison.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, a Hartford teen disregarded the train signal and attempted to cross the tracks in front of the train.
The train ended up strickling the rear driver’s side of the vehicle which caused the vehicle to spin. The vehicle then struck a “signal bungalow” near the tracks and then stopped.
The Sheriff’s Office says the railroad crossing did not have crossing gates.
The teen was taken to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. The extent of his injuries has not been released.
The crash still remains under investigation.
