The Waukesha County Sheriff has reported that an earlier incident involving a reverse 911 alert did indeed not occur, and no actual threat to the community ever existed.

Around 2:08 p.m. on Wednesday, the Waukesha County Communications Center received a 911 call from a man stating that a female neighbor told him someone was trying to kill her with a gun.

The sheriff's office responded to the area on Lynwood Drive south of CTH VV, and the woman told deputies there were additional residents inside a home who may be held at gunpoint.

The reverse 911 call was then activated to alert citizens to avoid the area and stay inside their homes.

A tactical unit was deployed to the scene and three additional people were ordered out of the home.

Deputies then determined that no actual threat existed and the reported incident did not occur after investigating the home.

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office is still investigating what happened.
