Milwaukee, WI - Thanksgiving is just three days away and lots of people are preparing by purchasing the main course, turkey. Some people lined up as early as 7 a.m. outside Tower Chicken Farm on Milwaukee's south side to get their hands on one.
“This is my busiest time of the year,” Greg Schmidt, the owner's husband, said.
Turkeys flew off the shelves Monday morning along with plenty of other thanksgiving fixings.
“I actually buy some of the other sausages and then I use them in the stuffing,” Ann Krueger, a customer, said.
Tower Chicken Farm first opened its doors in 1948 and prides itself on providing Milwaukee with the freshest poultry —the very thing that brings so many people back year after year, after year.
“We’ve been doing this for 20 years [we] love doing it because it’s fresh turkey and as you can see, we can pick the sides that we want which is great,” Ray Miller, a customer, said.
Tower’s expects at least 300 people to pass through the store, selling anywhere between 500 - 600 turkeys just three days before Thanksgiving.
