A police pursuit in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood ended with multiple people being sent to the hospital and the suspect getting away.

Several witnesses say it was a chase unlike anything they have ever seen. Police were trying to stop a tow truck pulling a car when it ended up crashing.

"I heard the loud boom and all the sirens immediately following," said witness Cheryl Felker.

Police say around 4:30 p.m. they tried to stop the tow truck and it hit another car on the road and a parked car. Witnesses say after the driver crashed, she jumped out of the tow truck and went to another car. They saw her struggle with a man driving that vehicle before she finally stole it. That's when witnesses say the saw police officers trying to stop her.

"Officers were trying to pull someone out of the car, trying to get the door open. And you could tell that that car was trying to leave and it finally did. It did take off while the officer still had his arms in the car, " said Felker.

Police say several people in the car the tow truck crashed into were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. They are still looking for the driver.
