A toddler was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Racine Friday afternoon, according to police.

Racine police said at 2:42 p.m. they responded to a scene near Goold and Geneva Streets. A 13-month-old child had run out in front of a vehicle driving through an alley.

The child had injuries to his face, and was taken to Ascension for treatment.

Police said the extent of the child’s injuries are unknown. They do not believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
