Police are investigating two attempted break-ins at gun stores in Waukesha County early Friday morning.

The first happened around 12:30 a.m. at Select Fire Weaponry in Waukesha.

"The alarm flashes a strobe light. You can see it go off on the surveillance, we see it. They pretty much scattered once that went off," owner Kris Naves said.

Naves said the burglars didn't get away with any guns.

The second burglary happened at around 1:30 a.m. at Freedom Arms Unlimited on Brown Street.

The burglars smashed a glass section of the front door in an attempt to get inside the business.

Police confirmed there was a break-in and that the burglars stole merchandise, but weren't specific. They also said there is surveillance video of the theft.

The business buys, sells and trades guns.

Police have not said if the two crimes are connected. Oconomowoc Police say no arrests have been made.
