EAU CLAIRE — It is not every day that you see a woman practicing karate moves, a dog running free and a man roaming naked at the same location, but it reportedly happened about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Walmart.

Police officers were called for a retail theft in progress. Lisa Smith, 46, and her dog, Bo, allegedly shoplifted items from the store, police said.

When officers arrived, they found Smith screaming in the entryway while trying to catch her dog. They also learned her son, Benny Vann, 25, was in the store reportedly causing problems.

Police said while Bo was running up to customers, Smith started pulling apart store displays and placed them in her cart. She was asked by staff to leave the store and performed karate moves in the parking lot, according to police.

Bo apparently grabbed a box of Jiffy Cornbread Muffin Mix and tried to leave the store. Smith was arrested and reportedly fought with officers. She also attempted to kick out a window on the squad car, police said.

While this was ongoing, Vann reportedly made his way to the back of the store and removed all of his clothing, exposing himself to customers. Vann allegedly took clothing from the racks but did not purchase any items.

When officers approached Vann, he allegedly refused to stop and attempted to run over an officer with his scooter. Officers stopped the scooter and arrested Vann.

Smith was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Vann was arrested for lewd and lascivious behavior, disorderly conduct and retail theft.

Bo was caught by officers and brought to the Humane Society.
